GIVE
GIVE (Girls Invested in Volunteer Efforts) is a passionate initiative of The Women’s Fund of Smith County. Through this meaningful program, high school-aged girls experience the joy of collective giving and grant-making. At once-a-month gatherings during the school year, girls will:
- Gain a better understanding of philanthropy
- Become more aware of community issues
- Volunteer together and give together to transform lives
How to Be a GIVE Girl:
- Any 10th or 11th grade high school girl living in Smith County is eligible to apply to GIVE.
- Complete our application (applications close August 14th or once all spots are filled).
- Members must attend at least 4 of 7 meetings each year.
- Members must participate in fundraising activities.

Our Purpose
To learn about nonprofits and community needs, to learn about fundraising and philanthropy, and to provide impact grants to support nonprofit agencies benefiting women and children in the Tyler/Smith County area.
Areas of Focus for Funding
The Women’s Fund of Smith County/GIVE provides grant support for arts & culture, education, health & wellness, and human services for women and/or children.
Grant Eligibility Requirements
- Applicant is not receiving and/or utilizing grant funding from Women’s Fund/GIVE in 2026
- Applicant is a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization with an active, functioning board of directors
- Grant request is for $5,000 – $20,000
- Project Proposal is focused on Arts & Culture, Education, Health & Wellness, or Human Services to significantly impact the lives of WOMEN and/or CHILDREN
- Recipients of services must be Smith County residents
- Services must be provided in Smith County, without discrimination
- Funds must be used within 12 months from the date of the grant award
- Organization financials demonstrate fiscal health and long-term sustainability
Funding will not be considered for the following:
- Scholarships
- Budget deficits/debt retirement or restructuring
- Capital Campaigns (Capital Asset requests are allowed)
- Religious/sectarian causes for strictly religious or sectarian purposes
- Political or lobbying activities
